aPHR Exam Review Course

Distinguish yourself from your peers with an aPHR!
 
Missouri State University—West Plains is now a Certification Preparation Provider with HR Certification Institute (HRCI) for the Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR).
 
Instructors have over 30 years practical experience in the field of Human Resources and will help you successfully prepare for your level of certification.
 
Sessions are 16-weeks in length and will cover preparation materials which include content review, test tips, and sample exam questions. Course content is structured using lecture, case studies and individual and group exercises.
All exams are based on U.S. laws, regulations and practices and are generalist in nature but differ in terms of focus and level of questions. aPHR is focused on entry level professionals in HR.
 
Session can be taken as credit or non-credit. Contact GOCAT for more information at (417) 255-7784.
An additional fee is required for taking the exam. Each are administered by computer at Pearson Vue testing centers. To register for the exam, or locate a testing center in your area visit www.hrci.org.

Industrial Drafting Program

Program Overview

This program will provide students with hands-on, industry-relevant drafting, design and Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) training using the most recent computer software such as AutoCAD.  Students will receive fundamentals of drafting and design of two dimensional drawings and computer drafting techniques. 

 

This training includes the following:

  • 8 weeks of hands-on training
  • Evening classes Monday/Wednesday 5-8 pm
  • All training material

Machining Technology Program

Program Overview

Cost: $833

This program will prepare students with entry-level skills needed in the automated manufacturing environment.  You will develop advanced skills in setting up and operating machine tools to produce precision parts and develop the required skills in preparation for automated machining. 

The training includes the following:

  • 16 weeks of hands-on training
  • Evening classes Monday/Wednesday 5-8 pm
  • All training material

Work 360

Program Overview

40 hours classroom training/Cost: $400

This curriculum provides students with an understanding of professional or “soft skills” needed to be successful in the workplace regardless of vocation or career path. 

Classes include goals and attitudes, career assessment, communications (both verbal and written), team and collaboration, workplace conflict and staying employed, professionalism, ethics, and 'Search for a Job, Get a Job and Keep a Job'.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training

Program Overview

Classes begin January 13, 2020/Cost: $1432

The training includes the following:

  • 8 weeks of lecture/lab/clinical instruction
  • All books and training materials
  • C.N.A. bundle to include scrubs, watch, BP Cuff and stethoscope
  • Examination fee
  • Background check
  • TB test
  • Drug screen
  • Classes will be held M-W from 5-8 pm with clinicals on Thursday
