Art Donation

A group of people holding art pieces on their hand

The Greater Ozarks Center for Advanced Technology (GOCAT) recently received a lovely donation of artwork from the “Ventures in Art” group in West Plains.

Last winter, the group, who meets at the First Christian Church, needed a place to meet weekly while the church was undergoing renovation. We were by the group and asked if they could use our facility for a few months. As a communication education partner-ship, officials at the GOCAT were happy to accommodate their needs and a new friendship developed.

The group meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 to noon and membership is open to those interested in developing their artistic skills in a social setting. According to Sheila Barton, manager of workforce development at the GOCAT, “the group brought their cre-ativity to the facility each week and it was great having them here to inspire us”.

They have since moved back to the church for their meetings, but the group surprised us with the generous donation, a piece of art-work from each of their members. Stop by and see this display of beautiful artwork by these very talented folks.
