Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) 

Missouri State University-West Plains sUAS course for college credit:

EGR 270 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Technologies in Practical Applications 
Credit Hours:  3(3-0) Prerequisite:  EGR 170
Course Description: This course introduces students to small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). Topics include selection and use of current sUAS hardware and software platforms, including thermal imaging, agricultural use, aerial mapping, surveillance and other practical applications. Course fee.
Spring 2020 Schedule:  March 9, 2020-May 15, 2020 (2nd 8 Weeks)
Class Format:  Blended (Combination Seated & Online)
Class Schedule:  Mondays 5:30pm-8:20pm at GOCAT
                             Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:20pm Online (using ZOOM technology)

 

All courses are taught by Rick and Amy Casada, FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Certified UAS Remote Pilots and owners of Aerobotics LLC.  All courses will be held at the Greater Ozarks Center for Advanced Technology (GOCAT) located at 395 Jackie D. Garrett Drive, West Plains, MO 65775.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Technology

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Technology with options in Alternative Energy, Manufacturing Technology, and Technology Management and certificates in Alternative Energy, Manufacturing Technology and Technology Management are available to students through a combination of seated, blended, online and laboratory courses. These programs are offered through a partnership between the South Central Career Center and Missouri State University–West Plains.

Alternative Energy Certificate

The certificate in Alternative Energy includes a unique combination of electricity, electronics, biofuels, solar and wind energy courses to provide practical knowledge and experience in the alternative energy field. While the Certificate in Alternative Energy may be completed as a stand-alone certificate program, courses in this certificate may also be used to complete the AAS in Technology-Alternative Energy.

This certificate is appropriate for students interested in improving job skills and opportunities in manufacturing and technical fields. This certificate may be completed as a stand-alone certificate program or courses in this certificate may also be used to complete the AAS in Technology-Manufacturing.

This certificate is appropriate for students interested in improving job skills and opportunities in manufacturing and technical fields. This certificate may be completed as a stand-alone certificate program or courses in this certificate may also be used to complete the AAS in Technology-Technology Management or the AAS in Business-Technology Management.
